Zooming

There is a possibility of zooming in the Contour or Topo mode. So the little piece of surface may be expanded up to the whole image box and all color palette will be realized in the limits of chosen part of figure. This enables to achieve the more high precision of the coordinate measuring.

To perform zooming a user has to:

  1. get the Contour or Topo image
    place the cursor into the center of the desirable little piece of the surface, which is planned to be expanded and press onto the middle mouse button. The new little square around selected point will appear. Simultaneously a new special window with the chosen coordinates will be created on the screen (fig.8.1).

  1. move the cursor (not releasing the button) to the perimeter of the selected piece until the latter will achieve the necessary borders. The currently formed little rectangle is always coincided with the existing grid lines of the figure so the new ranges of X,Y axes will be multiplied to the old steps of the corresponding axes while the proportions of the rectangle may be changed dependent on direction of the cusor movement. The coordinates of the current rectangle are continuously reflected onto the special window, mentioned above. The expanded area is always retained to be simmetric around the initial centre, selected by the user. When one of the edge of the rectangle is achieved a perimeter of the box, the expansion is stopped. The minimum size of the selected rectangle is 6 grid cells along the X and Y axes.
  1. if the new little zone is matched to user wish, - click the Apply button of special zooming window. As a result a new data matrix will be created in the memory in accordance with selected part of the surface and all former data will be deleted. The new contour (or topo) image will be automatically created on the screen (fig 8.2).

  1. This new surface may be analyzed (including in 3D-mode) and printed out as an ordinary initial surface. Note that data, read before, will be clipped and lost in accordance to new rectangle. So in order to restore the initial figure at whole one must click the Read button and then the 3d-button.
  1. If the cut is not so correct as user wants, one must click the Clear zoom button, after that all previous values (and new borders) will be cleared.
  2. Then a user should repeat zooming once more.
