SNDA project(SNDP is SNDA clone for REF TEK www.reftek.com seismic networks) SYNAPSE Science Center presents the experience of exploitation of real-time Seismic Network Data Analysis system (SNDA) at different scales. Two years of operation as a National Data Center software (at the Russian Federation NDC within CTBTO www.ctbto.org frameworks) at a multiprocessor SUN Enterprise and Sun Fire servers demonstrated extremely high reliability of the system at a pick load (near real-time event location production from 15 CTBTO seismic arrays and several 3 component stations). Nuclear power station seismic monitoring, real-time processing of regional telemetry seismic network is a lower scale example. Microseismic monitoring using SNDA opens up new horizons for oil/gas reservoir management. The range of platforms is Linux/Centrino to 72-processor Sun Fire 15000.The SNDA inherent features are:
SNDP provides real-time data processing of REFTEK 130 and 72A telemetry networks and provides the whole set of automatic data processing operations from signal detection to seismic bulletin issuing. The examples are given for the four National Seismic Networks, situated at Puerto-Rico, India, Bulgaria and Czech Republic (read more here). The Seismic Network Data Processor (SNDP) is multitasking, scalable, problem-oriented and open-architecture software designed for UNIX computers/networks. It provides real-time data collection, processing, and interactive analysis of seismological and other geophysical data registered by spatially-distributed networks of sensors. The package includes interactive 3D graphics and geographical mapping tools. Depending on the customer needs, SNDP scales itself from PC-based seismic analyst workstations to the National Data Center distributed processing environment. The SNDP Real-Time subsystem (SNDP-RT) provides reliable execution of application procedures in varying conditions of data stream and user's activity intensity. It's based on an "up-to-down design projection", free asynchronous communication between different system processes based on the "port" method. SNDP executes all data processing stages needed for preliminary regional seismic bulletin issue using data from seismic installations of various configurations, i.e. single Small Aperture Array, a multitude of arrays, seismic network, and a multitude of networks. The stages are: detection of seismic events, identification and parameter estimation of seismic phases, location of event sources, and identification of types. Some of the unique features of the SNDP software are as follows:
